Nigeria’s Ezekiel Nathaniel finished fifth in the men’s 400m hurdles semi-finals of the Paris Olympic games on Wednesday.

Nathaniel crossed the line in a time of 48.65 seconds which was not good enough for a place in it final.

Defending champion, Karsten Warholm proved his mettle in heat 1 of men’s 400m Hurdles semis, winning the race in a time of 47.67s.

French athlete Clement Ducos grabbed the second automatic spot in 47.85s with Alison Dos Santos settling for third place in 47.95 seconds.

Nigeria also missed out in the men’s 200 metres final following Udodi Onwuzurike’s failure to qualify.

Onwuzurike came in seventh in the race, clocking a time of 20.72, hence missing out.

Erriyon Knighton won the heat in men’s holding off a late push from Joseph Fahnbulleh and Tapiwanashe Makarawu.

The American won the race in 20.09s, with Fanhbulleh finishing 2nd in the race with a time of 20.12s.
