Bauchi state – The Bauchi Emirate Council has stripped Senator Shehu Umar Buba representing Bauchi South Senatorial District of his traditional title of ‘Majidadin Bauchi’ for criticizing Governor Bala Mohammed.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) senator recently criticised Governor Mohammed for tackling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the recent #EndBadGovernance protests.

The Emirate’s Secretary, Nasiru Musa, said the Emirate announced had withdrawn the lawmaker’s title, Daily Trust reports.

This was disclosed in a letter addressed to Senator Buba on August 14, 2023.
Musa said the decision to disrobe Senator Buba as a traditional title holder was taken during a meeting of the Emirate Council chaired by the Emir of Bauchi.
The council specifically accused Senator Umar of disrespecting and humiliating Governor Mohammed.
The Emirates said the APC senator’s actions were at variance with the teachings and culture of the Bauchi Emirate.
Henzodaily.ng recalls that Mohammed tackled President Tinubu over his economic policies that have resulted in current economic hardship and hunger in the country.
He criticised Tinubu’s speech on the #EndBadGovernance protests and noted that the Nigerian leader has again failed to address key issues.
Henzodaily.ng reports that Tinubu, in his address, called on protesters to open room for dialogue, adding there was no going back on the removal of fuel subsidy.

Bauchi governor attacks Tinubu
Henzodaily.ng earlier reported that Governor Mohammed called on President Tinubu to change his policies because they are not working.
Mohammed said if the hardship continues, he will invite Tinubu to be the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign director in 2027.
The chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum said the opposition party will win the 2027 presidential election because it would be a self-inflicted injury on the APC.
