Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the Minister of Women Affairs, disrupted an event organized by Mela-Chiyoma Pat Limited in Abuja on Thursday over the alleged impersonation of the ministry.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the minister, as seen in the video shared by the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR), made a serious accusation of impersonation against the organizers of the event, titled “Unveiling the Power of women and Food Security.”
According to the Minister, the organizers defied a direct order from President Bola Tinubu to cancel the event.
The minister further added that the Department of State Services (DSS) had taken the event organizer into custody.
Addressing the attendees and referring to the event organizers, she said: “I’m standing here to explain this to everyone. She has been arrested. She should have reorganized herself, used her name to make the invitation, and used her name to do this, not to use the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.
“I can’t allow this programme to go on because this is pure impersonation, and the President is not happy about it. I’m saying it, let the media cover it. We don’t care. You don’t do this. You don’t take the ministry for granted, for what?”
