Super Eagles defender, Tyronne Ebuehi was missing in action as Empoli played out a goalless draw against Monza in Saturday’s Serie A game.
The Nigerian international is still nursing a knee injury.
Despite controlling possession, Monza failed to utilize a few of the goal scoring chances that came their way.
Monza’s Daniel Maldini went on a strong early run only to fire just wide of the target, while Empoli goalkeeper Semuel Pizzignacco barely managed to fingertip a dangerous Giuseppe Pezzella cross away from Emmanuel Gyasi.
Ola Solbakken, on loan from Roma, had a strong run in the final minutes and forced a save from Pizzignacco at the near post.
All efforts from both teams to get the winning goal proved abortive.
