The first Nigeria’s Franco-British University, which is both British and French in academic style, Franco-British International University, Kaduna, will kick-start academic activities in October 2024.

This was revealed in a chat with journalists by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Abdullahi Muhammad Sabo, on Monday.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the university will start with three schools, namely; Schools of Computing, Nursing, and Health Sciences.

Franco-British International University was founded by Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, who is also the founder of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) in Niger Republic and Canadian University in Abuja.

Also, the founder, Professor Adamu Gwarzo, in a statement during the visit of the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Professor Armayau Hamisu Bichi, reiterated his passion and commitment to education, saying that he would give the sector his all.

He noted that in Nigeria, the “Franco-British International University (FBI) is yet another effort to bring forth, a truly world-class education to Africa.”

Franco-British International University was granted a provisional operational licence by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2023 alongside the Canadian University of Nigeria, which is also part of the MAAUN Group of Universities.

“I’m known for education and will continue to be committed to it. We did it in Niger (Republic) and Kano. We have instituted the spirit of morality and academic standards among our students and staff.

“We will ensure standard, discipline, and morality among students and staff of Franco-British International University like we are doing in Kano and Niger,” said Professor Gwarzo.
