Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has declared Thursday, October 3, and Friday, October 4, 2024, as public holidays.
This decision aims to enable residents to return to their communities and engage actively in the Local Government elections set for Saturday, October 5.

He announced the declarations during a statewide broadcast to the residents of the state from the Government House in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
