Jurgen Klopp has reportedly distanced himself from taking the England national team job after being mentioned as one of the prospective candidates to succeed Gareth Southgate.
At the end of the 2023–2024 season, the 56-year-old left his position as the manager of Liverpool after nine years at the helm, stating that he needed some time away from the game.
According to 90min, despite being one of the front-runners to replace Southgate, the German coach has stated that he will not be taking the vacant England managerial position, meaning he will not be engaged on the sidelines next season.

Southgate resigned as England’s manager a few days after the team lost to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.
“Nothing at all. Job-wise, nothing at all,” Klopp said at the International Coaches’ Congress when asked if he was returning to the game. “No club, no country. Some people must not have heard that part.
“That [taking the England job] would be the biggest loss of face in the history of football if I said, ‘I’ll make an exception for you.’

“I will work on something. I’m too young to just play padel and only spend time with my grandchildren. Will it be coaching again? I would actually rule that out at the moment. We’ll see how things look in a few months. Right now, nothing is coming through.”
While managing Liverpool, Klopp won nine trophies, including ending the Reds’ 30-year wait for a league title in 2020. He also won the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and the Club World Cup during his time on Merseyside.
