On Friday, August 16, Nike unveiled a new model of the Giannis Freak 6 shoes as part of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s signature line.
Greek-Nigerian, Antetokounmpo, who led Greece to the quarter-finals of the recently concluded Paris 2024 Olympics Men’s Basketball Tournament before losing to Germany 76-63, is primed for an endorsement deal ahead of the Bucks’ training camp, leading up to the 2024-2025 NBA season.

Announcing the endorsement deal for the latest series of Giannis shoes, known as the ‘Nike Giannis Freak 6,’ Nike showcased the NBA star in an Instagram post, where he is seen holding a basketball firmly between his palms with a fierce tiger behind him.
“Protect. Provide. Stay relentless. The values Giannis learned from his father inspired the Freak 6 ‘Roses’,” Nike wrote.
“Giannis Freak 6 is available on 8.16. In the mind of the hunter, the pursuit never ends. Get ready for it. Giannis Freak 6 is launching 8.16.”
According to Sneaker Bar Detroit, the Giannis Freak 6 shoe portrays a vibrant iteration and pays homage to the colors and spirit of the Olympics, tying into Giannis’s incredible international impact and his roots.
It added that the sneaker features a bold mix of colors with deep blue as the base, accented by bright yellow and orange hues on the Swoosh, laces, and heel. The design is completed with a cream-colored midsole, offering a fresh contrast that makes the vibrant upper stand out. The outsole is decorated with a unique pattern that hints at Giannis’s global influence and athletic prowess.
