Chido Obi-Martin has reportedly agreed to join Manchester United following his departure from Arsenal.
Obi-Martin is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in world football and he emerged as a United target after it was revealed that he would be leaving Arsenal.
Now according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United have now reached an agreement to sign the 16-year-old Obi-Martin.
Romano wrote on X: “Chido Obi Martin to Man United, here we go! Talented striker leaves Arsenal and he’s just accepted Man Utd proposal.
“Pathway key for Chido who’s turned down higher bids from Germany to sign for Man United.
“Project convinced 2007 born top talent to accept #MUFC.”
In the 2023-24 campaign, Obi-Martin scored more goals than any other Arsenal player at U18 age level in a single season, beating Folarin Balogun’s record despite being a full year younger than his American counterpart.
In total, Obi-Martin bagged 32 goals in just 18 league games for Arsenal’s U18s in 2023-24, with 28 of those coming in the final nine games of the season.
He is expected to join United’s academy side, although he will have ambitions of becoming a first-team regular in the future.
