Team Nigeria’s captain Anuoluwapo Opeyori has crashed out of the badminton event at the ongoing Paris Olympics.
Opeyori suffered defeat in his second group match to China’s Li Shi Feng in the men’s singles.
After a hard-fought contest Opeyori eventually succumbed to a 2-0 defeat (21-17, 21-17) to the World number six.
Meanwhile, the Super Falcons also crashed out of the Olympics following a 3-1 loss to Japan in their final group game on Wednesday.
The Falcons went into the game needing to win to stand a chance of progressing into the quarter-finals.
They had lost to Brazil and Spain in their opening Group games by 1-0 scorelines.
