The Federation of International Basketball Association (FIBA) says the superb performance of Nigeria’s D’Tigress at this summer’s Olympic in Paris will be remembered for a long time.
After a surprise run at the games, the journey of D’Tigress was eventually ended after they lost to Olympic champions USA.
Despite putting in a battling performance D’Tigress lost by 74 points to 88.
Following the defeat, FIBA wrote:”A fascinating run that we will remember for a long time.
“Nigeria , you’re leaving Paris on the highest note .”
D’Tigress stunned the likes of Canada and Australia in the group stage to advance into the quarter-finals.
They become the first-ever African team, male or female, to reach the last eight at the Olympic games.
