Before stepping on the track for her debut at the Olympic Games, Sha’Carri Richardson received a special gift from a special person.

The world champion in the women’s 100m comfortably breezed past the first round of the 100m in Paris on Friday, August 2.

The 24-year-old sprinter is looking to become the first American to win the event since Gail Devers in 1996.

On Thursday, August 1, the world champion shared a photo on Instagram of a bouquet embellished with a small replica of a teddy bear with a medal around its neck.

Who is Richardson’s boyfriend

Former men’s 100m world champion Christian Coleman has been rumoured to be Richardson’s boyfriend, but neither has confirmed their relationship.

Coleman missed out on USA’s 100m team but will be part of the 4x100m relay in the coming week.

Meanwhile, Richardson is the favourite to win the women’s 100m, especially since her closest challenger, Shericka Jackson of Jamaica, pulled out.

“In the past three years, I’ve grown a better understanding of myself, a deeper respect and appreciation for my gift that I have in the sport, as well as my responsibility to the people that believe in me and support me,” she said via The Guardian.

Henzodaily.ng, in another report, disclosed that Favour Ofili is crushed. The Nigerian star was getting ready to compete in at least three events at the Paris Olympics but is now set to miss out on the 100m.

Ofili took to social media to announce that the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) and the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) had failed to register her for the discipline.
