Protest: Police to deploy more personnel to Yobe …C0NTINUE READING HERE >>>
The Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has assured the government and people of Yobe State of deployment of more personnel to support the ongoing effort aimed at sustaining peace and security in the state.
The IGP gave the assurance on Friday through the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge Administration and Finance, Bala Chiroma, when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Mai Mala Buni.
The DIG told the governor that he was in the North-Eastern part of the country on operational assignment as directed by the IGP.
He added: “In view of the recent happenings, the IGP deemed it necessary for him to come and have a first hand feel of the situation on the ground, assess what happened and come up with new plans to forestall these kind of happenings in the future
“We will do the necessary things for Yobe to improve security generally. One of the areas requiring serious attention is that of manpower.
“We have discussed this, with the CP and being the DIG incharge of Administration, I will be able to source and deploy personnel to Yobe state, so that we can be able to improve what we have on the ground.”
Governor Mai Mala Buni commended security agencies operating in the state for their immeasurable sacrifices to keep the state and its people safe.
“I want to assure you that, we will leave no stone unturned to ensure that we sustain and deepen the relative peace we are enjoying in Yobe state,” he stated.
DIG Bala Chiroma hails from Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State.
