Paris Saint-Germain kicked off the new Ligue 1 season with a 4-1 win over Le Havre, marking the start of post Kylian Mbappe era.

Despite the final scoreline, the match was dramatic, with PSG’s last three goals coming in the closing minutes.

The Parisian giants, who have dominated French football with 10 league titles in the past 12 seasons, are in a phase of rebuilding after Mbappé’s high-profile move to Real Madrid this summer.

With one of the youngest squads in the league, PSG are relying on fresh talent to fill the void left by their former star.

Luis Enrique:s side took an early lead just three minutes in, courtesy of 23-year-old South Korean forward Lee Kang-in.

However, their pressing dropped when striker Gonçalo Ramos was forced off with an injury in the 20th minute, leading to the introduction of Randal Kolo Muani.

Le Havre equalized early in the second half through Gautier Lloris, and nearly took the lead, only for VAR to rule out Josué Casimir’s goal.

PSG finally regained control late in the match, with Ousmane Dembélé heading them back in front in the 85th minute.

Youngster Bradley Barcola added a third a minute later, and Kolo Muani sealed the victory with a penalty in stoppage time.

Another rising star, 19-year-old João Neves, contributed with two assists.
