The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) has condemned the killing of Chief Emmanuel Dangaladima, the Agom ana of the Gefe community and Mr Paschal Eze in the Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State.

SOKAPU disclosed that gunmen attacked Gefe community on Friday, killing two and kidnapping 15 persons.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Josiah Yusuf Abraks yesterday it appealed to relevant authorities to ensure speedy release of the abducted persons.

“Gefe community amongst other communities in Kajuru local government area have suffered several attacks by unknown gunmen.

“We appeal to all authorities to make concerted efforts that could lead to the speedy release of 15 persons abducted in the attack,” it said.

The union gave names of the kidnapped as, Happy Bitrus, Fenedic Bitrus, Regina Arewa, Mary Joshua, Joy Joshua, Miller Ezra, Mattis Stephen, Olever Stephen, Monday Iliya, Florence Oliver, Blessing Maidoki, Mrs Ezeh Paska, Beatrice Saleh, Bihari Mallam and Ado Onomai.

SOKAPU however, disclosed that Barga community in Awon ward of Kachia LGA was also attacked where the village head, Agom of Barga was kidnapped alongside others while houses and properties were destroyed.

According to SOKAPU, the attacks were orchestrated to distract Governor Uba Sani from focusing on good governance.

“These attacks appear to be efforts from some quarters to distract His Excellency Distinguished Senator Uba Sani from focusing in other germane issues of governance, in order to erode the general progress of the state, and the steady gains the Federal and State governments have been making in the area of security across Nigeria and Kaduna State thus far.

“This underscores the need for both the Federal and Kaduna State governments to look beyond these attackers in order to root out source of the problem with finality”.

SOKAPU also sympathised with the traumatised families of the victims and general members of the communities and prayed for success in the efforts to secure the release of those kidnapped.
