The Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, has advised communities in Gudu Local Government Area to assist the authorities with relevant information, especially intelligence gathering, to defeat armed bandits terrorizing the area.

Giving the charge on Friday while addressing the people of the area who came out en masse to receive him on a thank-you visit, he noted that securing the area is a collective responsibility that needs all hands on deck.

The governor said, “Let me call you my people in Gudu, please try and cooperate with us, give the security agencies information so as to be able to tackle the banditry disturbing us.”

The governor renewed the commitment of his administration to make the state safe and secure and pledged to renovate the Balle General Hospital, which has been facing serious dilapidation.

He disclosed that he has directed the immediate renovation of the Balle health facility so that the people would continue to enjoy the services provided by the facility.

The Governor added that he has equally directed the installation of 250 powered street lights across the Gudu Local Government Area, assuring that the state government has already awarded the contracts for the renovation of Tangaza to Gudu Road to ensure easy access to several communities living along the road.

Senator Aliyu Wamakko, in his remarks, called on the people of the area to continue to support the APC so that they can enjoy more dividends of democracy.

He commended the leadership style of Gov. Aliyu, which, according to him, has resulted in the massive transformation of the state.

The Gudu Local Government Sole Administrator, Umar Mai-Kano Balle, had earlier commended Gov. Aliyu for giving security in the area the attention it deserves.

He explained that the people are really appreciative of the special attention the governor is giving the area whenever they confront him with issues relating to security and assured the governor of their continued support at all times.
